My Dad told me that if you smile at a stranger, 9 times out of 10 that person will smile back. Wouldn't it be nice if it were 10 out of 10. Then we would truly have peace. Try it. Smile at someone. :-)

Peace is a deep intake of breath in the crispness of early morning. Smelling the excited moss. Hearing birdsong. Petting a cat. Smiling at a rose. Blowing bubbles. Watching a cloud. Feeling alive and well, whole and at rest in my own being. And it can exist in any moment I choose to entertain it. Even amidst chaos or noise, anger...or in absolute stillness. It is our intrinsic nature and it opens and thrives when given the mere glimpse of an opportunity. I look diligently for opportunity.

I love the idea that peace starts within. I can do that as often as I wish; most times its as simple as listening to a favorite song or thinking of my nieces or watching the wind blow the branches of the trees in my back yard. My latest discovery is that peace also happens in completely chaotic moments when Im stretched right up to my edge
in those moment, if I look inside, I find Im happy and engaged and energized. It feels right somehow to know both sides of the coin. And when I become aware of this feeling of peace, I send it out to the world. I like being a peace maker in this way.
